Wolfgang Seidenberg completed his acting training at the Max Reinhardt Seminar in Vienna, where he also had his first engagements, including at the Akademietheater, the Schauspielhaus and the Theater der Jugend. Under the directorship of Peter Lotschak, he performed at the Bad Hersfeld Festival for over nine years, including the title roles in “Jedermann” and “Tartuffe”. In 2024, he appeared there again as Arne in “Wie im Himmel”, a production directed by Joern Hinkel.
He worked with director Silvia Armbruster for several years in the independent group Theater Wahlverwandte and at the theater in Kempten, also as a dramaturge and director.
Seidenberg has appeared on stage in numerous touring productions for EuroStudio Landgraf since 1988, including as Richard III in Shakespeare’s drama of the same name, in Lutz Hübner’s “Frau Müller muss weg”, as John Proctor in Arthur Miller’s “Hexenjagd” (director: Volkmar Kamm) and most recently as medical expert Dr. Sperling in Ferdinand von Schirach’s “Gott” (director: Miraz Bezar). In a takeover of the Schauspielbühnen Stuttgart, he recently gave numerous guest performances as Salieri in “Amadeus” (director: Udo Schürmer).
Wolfgang Seidenberg became known to a wide TV audience through the role of master plumber Frank Töppers in the ARD early evening series “Marienhof”, which he played from 1995 to 2011. In addition to guest roles in other television series, he has also appeared in feature films, e.g. as an SS warden in Spielberg’s “Schindler’s List”, the title role in “The Psychologist” by Henrik Töpfer and the father in “Where To” by Andreas Meichsner.
He has worked for many years with Roland Reber and wtpfilm, for whom he appeared in front of the camera in “Mein Traum oder Die Einsamkeit ist nie allein”, “Illusion”, “Der Geschmack von Leben” and “Roland Rebers Todesrevue”.
